ACID CULTURE! TECHNO CULTURE! UNDERGROUND CULTURE! REBEL CULTURE!…CALLING ALL FREAKS, GEEKS, FUCKHEADS, FUCKWITS, SPACEHEADS, BASSHEADS, TRAVELLERS, SQUATTERS, PLOTTERS, SIDESTEPPERS, CULTURE JAMMERS, GROOVERS, MOVERS, DREAMERS, SCHEMERS, SHAKERS AND WASTERS…STAY UP FOREVER 100 IS COMING!

Stay Up Forever celebrate their 100th release with a year of releases and events, Representing 20 years of Acid Techno Music, parties, and a truly unique worldwide underground culture that has flourished during these seminal times..

S.U.F historically reach their 100th release this year and are celebrating 20 years of Liberator and the Acid Techno scene. A triumph of musical substance and belief over commercialism and profit, this scene has thrived, not just here in London, but across the U.K. and the farthest corners of the planet through a network of like-minded people who have been involved on all levels from organizing squat parties and illegal raves, to running sound systems, festivals and underground club nights.

Encompassing DJ’s, musicians, circus types, technicians, performers and artists as well as the thousands of party people themselves, this is a global network of D.I.Y. defiance, a cultural phenomenon existing outside the mainstream and largely ignored by the media, yet flourishing spectacularly right under their noses.

As a scene it has thrived within its own genre, but has touched on and been a part of a wider undercurrent of disaffection and cultural dissidence stretching back to the punk and hippy days, and including all forms of alternative art and expression from street art, traveler and squat culture, literature, festival and rave culture, as well as politics, street protest, and post-punk ideology, and a hell of a lot more besides!

For many people the music was the catalyst for a lifestyle change, a musical “fuck you”, an act of 303 and 909 driven rebellion, which like punk before it, inspired and energized thousands. In London alone, squat parties by the likes of Bedlam, Immersion, Underground Sound, Manic, and more recently, Everyone Sound and Malfaiteurs (to name but a few), have played host to millions, and literally changed the lives of many of those who have graced those deviant dance floors over the last two decades.

Out in the world from all corners of the U.K. and Europe, to South and North America, South Africa, Japan, Australia and beyond, this culture has spread like a virus, connecting thousands of people through an underground network that continues to this day.

This is what we intend to represent over the next year with SUF100 celebrating this whole culture, through a series of special musical releases and events. More details to follow…
